What is CapCutie?

CapCutie is a multiplayer party game where friends answer personal statements, can choose to "cap" (lie about their answer), and guess who's lying. There's no account with a real name, email, or phone number - you just pick a display name and an icon.

What we collect

• Display name and icon - whatever you type or choose; we don't verify it.
• An anonymous ID - generated automatically by our database (Supabase) to tell you apart from other players. It isn't linked to your email, phone number, or any other account.
• Your in-game answers - the numbers you pick (1-10), whether you chose to lie, your votes, and your scores.
• Chat messages and reactions you send during a game.

We do not collect: your real name (unless you choose to type it as your display name), email, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or ID.

What we use it for

• Making the game itself work (showing answers, calculating scores, displaying chat).
• Showing you your own lifetime stats (e.g. how many rounds you've played).

We do not use it for advertising, cross-app tracking, or selling it to third parties. There are no ads and no analytics/tracking SDKs in the app.

How long we keep it

• Chat messages are permanently deleted as soon as a game ends.
• Answers, scores, and votes are kept so your lifetime stats can be shown - linked only to your anonymous ID and display name, not a real identity.
• If you report a message, we save its text so it can be reviewed, even after the chat is otherwise deleted.

Who has access to your data

Data is stored with Supabase, our database provider. Access to data in the database is restricted with Row Level Security, so other players can generally only see what they're allowed to (for example, they can't see your true answer or whether you lied until it's revealed in-game). We don't sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.

Report and block

You can report a chat message or block another player directly in the app. Blocking someone is a local setting on your own phone. Reports are saved so they can be reviewed.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you're in the EU, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data. Since the app doesn't require an email or login, we can only locate your data if you provide your display name and roughly when you played. Contact us at the address below to exercise your rights.

Children

CapCutie is not directed at children under 13.
